The weekend has arrived and it’s a gorgeous day, so what better time than now to talk about scotch?!
5 years ago Graeme Macaloney, a Scottish born Albertan with a BioTech background, came to VIATEC to make connections in order to make a life here in Victoria. You may remember the Times Colonist article announcing the $2.37-million commitment from the federal government, making 80 new jobs for the region a step closer to reality.
Well, construction is now underway on Victoria Caledonian Distillery’s 17,320 square-foot building in the industrially zoned area of Enterprise Crescent, off Glanford Avenue, run by Macaloney Distillers. The business is on schedule to be selling bottled beers and growler fills, plus a newly approved tasting room (open until midnight) on-site this summer.
